ADJ’s Vision Series: High Quality LED Video Panels For Any Application

The ADJ Vision Series is a complete range of LED video panels, suitable for a wide variety of purposes ranging from concert touring to semi-permanent installation. Offering a variety of pixel pitch options, suitable for different viewing distance requirements, as well as an IP-rated model for temporary outdoor use, the Vision Series is a versatile modular system packed with advanced features designed to maximize performance and make video professionals’ lives easier. These include exceptional brightness, high contrast and a wide viewing angle, as well as easy serviceability with four independent modules, quick-lock rigging, and fold-out corner protectors.

“ADJ has been in the LED video panel market for almost a decade,” comments ADJ USA’s Director of Sales, Alfred Gonzales, “and our video panels are now used worldwide, in churches, nightclubs and entertainment centers, as well as utilized by production, rental, and event companies working on all kinds of tours and one-off events. Over the years, our sales team have learned from countless video professionals what they want from a modular LED system and that information has been channeled back to our R&D experts. The result is the Vision Series, a complete modular LED video solution that combines robust, vibrant and reliable panels with innovative rigging solutions that make it quicker and easier to build LED walls of all shapes and sizes.”

Featuring the highest quality LED binning as well as bright, clear output, the Vision Series features four panel models alongside a comprehensive collection of rigging hardware and accessories. Every panel in the range is equipped with a high quality NovaStar A5S data receiving card and features DataLock securely-locking ethernet input and output sockets that allow the signal from a compatible video processor (for example the NovaStar MCRTL-300, MCRTL 4K, or VX1000 or NovaPro UHD JR) to be linked from panel to panel. Each unit is also equipped with locking power input and output sockets, which can be used to link the power supply from one panel to another.

With the highest pixel density in the range, the VS2 is designed for situations where audience members may view an LED screen from a relatively close distance. The panel measures 500mm x 500mm (19.68” x 19.68”) and features an array of 168 x 168 3-in-1 RGB SMD2121 color mixing LEDs, resulting in a pixel pitch of 2.97mm (0.12”). Offering an impressive brightness of 1000 NITS, contrast ratio of 5000:1, and viewing angle of 160° (Horizontal) / 140° Vertical measured @ 9.75 ft. (3m), it can be used to construct high resolution video displays with exceptional image clarity. The panel is divided down into four easy to replace mini modules, which are front serviceable for convenient access. A dedicated removal tool, the VSMRT, available that magnetically attaches to the front of a panel to aid technicians in removing modules from the front side when servicing.

The VS3 has the same external dimensions but offers a slightly reduced pixel density. It features 128 x 128 RGB SMD2121 color mixing LEDs, representing a 3.91mm (0.15”) pixel pitch, which are divided into four modules for easy serviceability. Offering the same brightness, contrast ratio and viewing angle ratings, as the VS2, the VS3 is suitable for situations where audiences will view video content from a little further away. As with all of the panels in the range, it features in-built articulated protectors which fold out from the back of the unit to provide protection to the corners – the parts of the panels most prone to damage – during transit.

Representing another drop in pixel density (and price), the VS5 once again shares the same external dimensions but features an 84 x 84 array of RGB SMD2121 color mixing LEDs, divided into four modules, resulting in a pixel pitch of 5.95mm (0.23”). It has the same brightness, contrast ratio and viewing angle ratings as the VS2 and VS3, and is designed to construct large video displays that are intended to be viewed from a distance, for example IMAG displays at an arena concert. It features an innovative rigging system, shared with the other two models mentioned previously, which makes constructing a large video display from multiple panels both quick and easy. A magnetic locking system pulls together the top of one panel to the bottom of another, allowing a technician to hold the new panel temporarily in place with just one hand while using their other hand to engage the pin-locking mechanism. This means that a single crew member can quickly and easily erect a full wall of panels.

The Vision Series lineup is completed by the VS3IP, which is IP-rated for temporary use outdoors. With an IP65-rated front and IP54-rated back, it is suitable for temporary outdoor use on concert tours and one-off productions, including festivals, theatrical performances and sporting events. It offers increased brightness of 4500 NITS, enough for clear visibility even during full daylight, alongside the same 5000:1 contrast ratio and 160° (Horizontal) / 140° Vertical viewing angle as the other panels in the range. With slightly larger dimensions of 576mm x 576mm (22.7” x 22.7”) it features a 150 x 150 matrix of 3-in-1 SMD1921 LEDs, delivering a pixel pitch of 3.84mm (0.15”). The panel’s quick-lock system makes setting up a large video wall as fast and straightforward as possible. Locator pins on the top side make it simple to get the panel in exactly the right position, while easy to activate locking pins then secure it in place. Additional locking pins on the side ensure adjacent panels are also firmly joined together to create a seamless finish. Alternatively, panels can be joined using a choice of angles (-6, -3, +3, +6 degrees) to create concaved or convex screens. As with all panels in the range, each VS3IP is divided down into four easy to replace mini LED modules. In addition, the model also features a quick-release power supply / receiving card module.

All four models feature integrated carry handles. A pair of vertical bar handles are fitted to the rear of the VS3IP, while the other panels all feature a recessed vertical carry handle built-in to their top edge. The VS2, VS3 and VS5 are all based around the same frame and therefore compatible with the same rigging hardware. The VSRB1 is an intelligently-designed rigging bar that can be used to vertically hang up to 20 panels or ground stack up to 8, alternatively, the VSSCSB is a support base that allows up to three VS panels to be mounted in a freestanding column, ideal for temporary digital signage applications. For the VS3IP, there is a separate dedicated rigging bar, the VS3IPRB1, which can also be used to vertically hang up to 20 panels or ground stack up to 8. Finally, the VSRQR is a convenient ‘quick rig’ attachment that fits to the rear of any panel in the range so that it can be fastened directly to a 2” pipe or truss.

ADJ's sister company Duratruss also features a dedicated modular ground stack system, which can be used in conjunction with the VSRQR quick rig clamp and VSRB1 rigging bar to create a fully supported ground-stacked video wall. Check the LED Support at Duratruss.eu.
