Offering a retro aesthetic combined with modern LED technology, ADJ’s new Vintage X is a versatile decorative blinder designed to dazzle. Featuring a distinctive octagonal casing, the luminaire combines four immensely bright amber LED strips with color-mixing background glow LEDs to deliver huge creative potential. The unit’s vintage-style textured background reflector accentuates the output from both LED types, generating eye-catching scenic visual effects, while its heavy-duty bracket and flexible design mean that it can be easily integrated into stage or venue lighting designs in a variety of different ways.
The Vintage X’s primary light sources are four 60-watt amber LED arrays with a color temperature of 2000K. Arranged in an X-shape, they effectively emulate the glow of traditional tungsten blinders and offer independent dimming control to allow the creation of animated chase patterns. In addition, sixty-four 3-watt RGB color mixing LEDs are arranged around the perimeter of the fixture, illuminating the reflector to generate vibrant background glow effects. These LEDs can all be controlled individually using the fixture’s highest channel mode, allowing animated color chases to also be applied to the background effect.
Its robust metal construction makes the Vintage X ready for a life on the road and its relatively low weight of 18 lbs. (8.2 kgs.) makes it easy to carry and rig. It features a robust hanging bracket that locks into place using a pair of large plastic thumb tightening screws. The bracket can be used to prop the fixture up on the floor or to rig it – either standing upright on a tripod or vertical pipe or hanging down from a truss or lighting bar. The rear of the fixture is fitted with Omega clamp receivers (clamp sold separately) and the unit also features a coffin locking system built into the top, bottom, and side edges of its casing. These can be used to securely link together up to eight Vintage X units to create impressive fixture arrays.
A large backlit digital display on the rear of the fixture allows for convenient and intuitive setup and DMX addressing. It features 5-pin DMX input and output sockets, but is also equipped with the new Aria X2 wireless management and control system. This allows cable-free DMX control as well as remote fixture management and OTA (Over The Air) firmware updates via Bluetooth using the Aria X2 BLE app.
