ADJ Jolt Bar FX Powers Don Broco’s Explosive North American Tour

When British rock heavyweights Don Broco set out on their recent North American tour, they brought arena-level energy to intimate club and theater venues — thanks in large part to a self-contained floor package built around ADJ’s Jolt Bar FX linear LED fixtures. Designed and programmed by Kevin Zito and supplied through his company KZ Lighting, the compact yet powerful rig ensured consistent, high-impact visuals night after night.
The tour began with 11 dates across October and November 2025, before the band returned home to the UK for a series of arena shows in their native England. The 2026 leg then kicked off in Baltimore on January 20 and wrapped up in Seattle on March 2, delivering Don Broco’s signature blend of intensity and theatrics to fans across the continent.
A Cart Rig Built for Maximum Impact
“I’ve been a fan of Don Broco for years,” enthuses Kevin. “In fact I’d wanted to do lights for them even before I was doing lights! So, when their manager hit me up around the middle of last year and said, ‘hey, here's the size of the rooms that we're playing, what can you do?’ I was really excited and wanted to help make these shows look as big as possible, because in the UK they are playing much bigger stages. They wanted to do a cart rig, which seems to be the popular move these days. And, when it came down to how much wow factor I could squeeze out of the budget, there was just one choice, it had to be the Jolt Bars.”
Kevin’s design centered on 28 Jolt Bar FX fixtures, evenly spaced and mounted horizontally across four separate rolling carts. This modular approach allowed the rig to expand or contract depending on stage size, making it ideal for a tour that moved through a wide variety of venues.
Because of the scale and routing of the tour, the band required a fully autonomous floor package — an area where Kevin has built a strong reputation.
“I’ve developed a bit of niche for designing and programming self-contained ground packages for smaller tours, and the rig for this Don Broco run is a prime example,” explains Kevin. “We agree on a rig, the band sends me the tracks, I program a time-coded show, and I send it out with a little stage box that hooks up to their playback rig. I’ll usually also provide a cue sheet that allows the house LD to busk along and match the color palette and energy of the floor package. This means the band can achieve consistency at every show, even if the venue has nothing to offer other than basic front light.”

Three Fixtures in One
A large linear LED fixture, the Jolt Bar FX offers huge output as well as the creative potential of brilliant bright white strobe/blinder LEDs combined with multi-zone color wash LEDs in one versatile unit. It features a central strip of 112 x 5-Watt cool white SMD LEDs, surrounded on both sides by a total of 672 x 0.3W RGB color mixing SMD LEDs. This allows the same fixture to generate intense white strobing effects as well as vibrant color washes. Both types of LED are grouped into independently controllable zones (16 white and 32 color), which means the unit can also be used to generate strobe chases and other ‘eye candy’ effects. With a wide 116-degree beam angle and immense light output, the Jolt Bar FX will make a big impact wherever it is used.
“I've been a huge fan of linear LED fixtures for the entire time I've been doing lights,” comments Kevin. “They have fueled so many of my tours in the past, because when you're trying to get the most dynamic set of options out of a low fixture count, which is what most of the bands I work with are looking for, they are the obvious choice. And when the Jolt Bars came out, I just fell in love with them. 32 RGB segments plus 16 white strobe segments down the middle, it's like I've got at least three lights in one, and more than that if I want to go crazy with the zone control. And with Don Broco, I really pushed the envelope of what I would typically do with them, and got into a lot of pixel mapping, almost treating the rig like a low-res video wall. I even went as far as filming myself in front of a green screen and putting myself up on the bars at certain points! I’ve also found them to be extremely reliable – I have no problem throwing them on carts and sending them off across the country.”

Flexibility, Brightness, and Creative Freedom
With 32 RGB segments and 16 independently controllable white strobe segments per fixture, Kevin was able to treat individual sections of each bar as separate fixtures — creating layered chases, punchy blinder hits, and dynamic pixel-mapped effects that belied the compact nature of the rig.
“What I really love about the Jolt Bar is its flexibility,” concludes Kevin. “It's got so many pixels available that I can treat any segment of the bar at any time like a separate fixture. I’ve got a cue where I just override a small cluster and treat it as a blinder, on a separate executor, so I can flash it while the rest of the bar is running a chase. The Jolt Bars are also incredibly bright! For these smaller club shows, they rarely hit full output, that’s just too much, but I do like to have the option to destroy people if I need to!”
By leveraging the immense output, zone control, and versatility of ADJ’s Jolt Bar FX fixtures, Kevin delivered a touring floor package that brought arena-scale excitement to every stop — proving once again that with the right fixtures and creative vision, big looks can come in compact packages.
