Brighter and Bolder, Introducing the Eliminator Lighting Stinger Spot 30

Packing a serious sting, the new Eliminator Lighting Stinger Spot 30 is a compact, powerful, and affordable moving head spot. Ideal for mobile productions as well as installation in venues with low ceilings, it outputs crisp gobo projections and vibrant beam effects that are sure to always get the party started!

The Stinger Spot 30 builds on the success of the original Startec Stinger Spot from Eliminator Lighting’s sister company ADJ. It inherits the compact form, swift movement, and useful feature-set of its predecessor, while tripling the power of its light source. At the heart of the new Stinger Spot 30 is an efficient and powerful 30W white LED light engine, which is focused through high quality optics to generate a sharp and vibrant output. With a beam angle of 13-degrees, it is ideal for creating impactful mid-air effects as well as for projecting GOBO patterns onto venue walls, ceilings, and dancefloors.

Independent color and GOBO wheels offer a selection of seven vibrant color options (plus open) and seven varied metal GOBO pattern options (plus open). The color wheel can be set to scroll continuously to create a rainbow effect, while the GOBO wheel also offers a shake option. A manual focus lens is mounted to the front of the unit, which can be adjusted to ensure sharp patterns at different projection distances.

Pan and tilt ranges of 540-degrees and 190-degrees respectively, mean the unit’s head has a wide field of movement. Its small size allows for extremely fast motion, while the inclusion of 16-bit fine control over the stepper motors allows for precise positioning and smooth motion at slower speeds. The fixture also offers digital 0-100% dimming and variable speed strobing effects.

The Stinger Spot 30 offers plenty of flexibility when it comes to operating modes. Whether users want to control exactly what the fixture is doing at any given moment or would prefer to ‘set it and forget it’ running its pre-programmed effects, this flexible unit covers all bases. It features a four-segment LED display, with four corresponding pushbuttons, to provide access to an intuitive menu-driven interface that allows easy selection between its two operating modes (Standalone or DMX) and their various options.

For simple ‘plug and play’ operation, the fixture is supplied with eight internal programs. These can be set to run at a constant speed or triggered by a musical beat, detected by an internal microphone. Multiple fixtures can also be linked together using 3-pin DMX cables to easily create a synchronized lightshow, while the option to select any of the fixtures to carry out inverted movements (either pan or tilt) is simple to select.

For those who want to use a controller or piece of software to create custom looks and programs for their lightshow, the Stinger Spot 30 is also compatible with the universal DMX control protocol. It offers a choice between a basic 4-channel mode (which provides pan and tilt control alongside remote selection of the internal programs) and a full 12-channel mode (which offers full remote control of all the fixture’s various features). To aid with quick programming, the unit is also pre-programmed with nine pan/tilt movements – which can be selected via DMX – and offers the option of automatic color/GOBO changing (triggered by the internal microphone) – which can also be selected via DMX and used in conjunction with custom movements or static positions.

The easily-portable fixture measures just 271 x 176 x 148mm (L x W x H) and weighs only 3 kgs. A pair of the units fit comfortably into the Accu-Case F4 Par Bag, which makes them easy to carry and provides protection in transit. Each fixture is fitted with rubber feet – allowing it to stand directly on a truss podium, speaker, stage, or riser – and is also supplied with an Omega bracket to allow the attachment of a truss clamp. The unit is fan-cooled and allows for multi-voltage operation (AC 100-240V, 50/60Hz).

“Taking a popular fixture and beefing up the output, the Stinger Spot 30 is a tiny powerhouse,” comments Albert Paredes, Product Manager for Eliminator Lighting. “It is a truly affordable fixture, which offers a great package of features and solid build quality. With its vibrant colors, crisp GOBOs, potent output and compact size, the Stinger Spot 30 is ideal for mobile entertainers as well as installation in venues such as small clubs and bars, roller rinks, bowling alleys, and leisure centers, especially those with a low ceiling height.”

The Eliminator Lighting Stinger Spot 30 is available now from ADJ Lighting Europe.
